There’s no place in the world where one can feel secure like a home as at the end of the day we hope to reach out to our comfort zone. We all look for improvements in the home and aim at making out a change in existing space where keeping a deadline is important concern in renovation and planning plays a key role.

I attempted the task of renovating our home when I was 25 years old and realized the importance of planning as it was a real time experience all together where I had the privilege to take all the decision and being financially independent I drafted the estimate to set up the budget and experienced the journey of renovation which seems like achievement as I ponder over it after years which eventually motivates me to write on it.

So, here we go with some Pro tips :

1. Declutter stuff by selling out them in advance so that you get a good price.

2. Move out to a rented space if possible so that there’s no hustle.

3. Prioritize the things you wish to change and set up budget accordingly.

4. Don’t opt for concealed wiring it may sound weird but in the long run its commendable as you can change the wires or add up the invertor connections easily if the wires are in the old casing wiring style else for concealed wiring just digging out the wire beneath the wall is the only option left! Check for earthing wires across the space and add up extra 3 pin sockets for ease of future digital era.

5. Don’t go for false ceiling as cleaning the spaces where led lights are provided becomes difficult and above all becomes a hideout place for reptiles like lizards or birds to build a nest, so keep it simple as no one aims to gaze the ceiling in first place!

6. Choose the plumber wisely for bathroom renovation, check for the work from previous client by taking their feedback. A wise advice here is don’t go for concealed flush tanks it becomes really difficult to maintain over time.

7. Select the theme in advance by checking out ideas of makeover widely available on YouTube for room decors and colours which you like! Keep minimalism ideas in mind as more you wish to add, always remember the maintenance behind it!

8. Make use of space by opting for furniture that are movable so that it becomes easy to clean the area also try to reuse old wood, window grills, carpets etc.

9. Paint the wooden furniture like bed and wardrobe to keep it safe from termites in the long run else opt to explore furniture made without wood.

10. Make sure only one person of the family is in touch with all of them to communicate the decision as it simplifies the process of conveying the decision.

P.S : Ensure you are dedicated to the renovation by setting up a deadline to all the key players like Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter and Painter as all the tasks are linked together where following up with them is more important. I would recommend to take the feedbacks of all from the clients they have worked for as it definitely helped me a lot to know their skills and commitment for deadline. Hope this helps whenever you plan to renovate your space. Thanks for reading until end!
